At the Farm House

My wife and I are just getting back from Mahone Bay where we spent the night with Robbie and Amber. Although we're not shooting their wedding until next year, we planned on doing their engagement photos during the May 2-4 weekend. I love how much we learn from each other while doing these shoots, like how much more relaxed they were after a beer break and how Robbie can smell a fire a million miles away! Anyway, we had fun, it was relaxed and the pie was amazing!

Awesome Hockey Player!

Check out my Nephew! He just completed his first year of hockey, playing at Cole Harbour Place. He's such an awesome little player who LOVES hockey. We wanted to do this photo for his grandfather for his birthday. It was a two part shoot, the first was in a studio and the second was at the stadium. Using HDR I combined the rink shots, (taken at one stop increments), to get the background. Using other photoshop techniques I was able to place him in the background. Inspired by Joel Grimes and Kelby Training. I'm happy with this shot and plan on doing a lot more of it in the future. Check out the other photos to see what the originals looked like.

I combined all of the photos below.

A weekend of Trail Riding

I took advantage of the amazing weather we had this past week by shooting some trail riding. I wanted to play with some new equipment, (Pocket Wizards), which ended up being a complete let down. I have the Flex TT5 system and two out of three broke while moving the stand about two feet. Having my Canon 580 exII's fall to the ground was enough for me to realize the mistake I made investing in the Pocket Wizard system. So frustrating!
Here are a few photos that I managed to get. The first was the only one I managed to get before my Pocket Wizards broke.

Hockey Rink Photo Shoot

I have just returned from NL where I was able to spend some quality time with my family. My Nephew has an amazing rink in his backyard and we thought it would be cool to get a few shots. He plays for the Blizzard Dogs in St. John's so we took a few shots with both his team and his Canadian jersey. These are just a few from the shoot. Thanks to my nephew for being awesome!

Conrad Beach

Conrad Beach is one of those spots that locals love. It's often over-looked as it shares the same coast line as Lawrencetown Beach and Rainbow Haven but it offers amazing sunsets. I'm never disappointed when I go there. These are a few photos that I took last night.

Weathered Chair

Saturday evening when we were shooting Paddy and Holly's engagement photos, I noticed a chair on the beach with only three legs. It had really great texture and completely weathered. I went back last night to get a few photos and to take in the sunset. These were long exposures up to 10 seconds each.
