Shubenacadie

I've just spent the last few days in Maitland photographing the tidal bore on the Shubenacadie River. It was so amazing to see all the activity from tidal bore rafting to mud sliding and kayaking. I went in to visit Brian at The River Runners to let him know I was in the area. If you're looking to go rafting I would highly recommend paying him a visit. And if you're not looking at going rafting, you should be. Everyone came back beaming with excitement!

The photo below is the viewing platform which gives you a great view of the tidal bore! It can be found at the information centre which is very easy to find.

A few photos of the tidal bore rafting from the River Runners!

Mud Sliding at its best. This was a great family having a great time.

These guys were all for having photos taken. We discovered that they were camping across from us a few weeks ago in Five Islands when we were there to capture the Not Since Moses Race.

I'm now in Blomidon waiting for the rain to stop. Hope to have more photos for you soon!

Not Since Moses Race

Sunday was the annual Not Since Moses Race held in Five Islands, NS. The race is organized around the tidal activity and takes place when the tide is at its lowest point. The participants run their choice of 5kms, 10kms and there is even a small race for the children. This event is awesome! It is so much fun especially for the kids. If you're looking for something to do with your family next year you need to do this race!

I've posted more photos here on my website. I can't wait to see this again next year.
