Merry Nickmas!

Nick and Ryan are brothers who wanted to have their photos done as a "Nickmas" present for their parents. Nick is leaving to work on Seazen II, a luxury catamaran, in the BVI's next week. These are some of the photos. I gave Nick and Ryan a tie which I knew would just be too funny. Don't worry boys, I have to get help with mine too. Thanks for being good sports. Good Luck Nick!

Abby

Yesterday I travelled to Wolfville, NS to take photos of this beautiful Boston Terrier. My friends Dean and Troy were gracious enough to let me move every piece of furniture around in their house to set up the studio lights! I love how these turned out! These are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Peter and Nadine

On Thanksgiving weekend my wife and I attended our friends wedding in Mountain Gap Inn just outside of Digby, NS. It was a great place to have a wedding and we had a blast. Although I wasn't the photographer, I was able to get a few shots for them.

Bride and Groom... congrats to you both!

Star Trails 2

Back in May I posted a photo of my first attempt capturing star trails. I recently returned to the same spot with a different technique to see if I could get a better result. This is a series of ten different pictures taken for five minutes each. I later layered them in photoshop to get this result! During my first attempt I noticed a lot of noise, or grainy specs throughout the photo. It was a 45min exposure at a high ISO. So this time I thought I would take a series of photos, shorter in time, but combined would make up the same time as the first. I added an extra five minutes to get longer star trails.
Next time I'll be including a little light painting where I'll fill in the trees with a flashlight!

2nd Attempt
Canon 5D, EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM, f/11, bulb setting for 10 photos @ 5 min each, combined later in photoshop, ISO 400

1st Attempt
Canon 5D, EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM, f/6.3, bulb setting for 48 min, ISO 400

Kale & Piper

I'm sure between their grandmother and uncle they're just sick of having their photo taken. But I love it when I can catch these two playing. Can you blame me?
